Account Deletion Policy

How to permanently delete your Friends Track account, what we erase, and the limited records we are legally required to retain.

Last updated: 13 June 2026

1. Overview

At Friends Track (“we”, “our”, or “us”) we believe you should remain in full control of your personal data. You may permanently delete your account and associated personal information at any time, directly from within the app. This policy explains exactly how the deletion process works, what data is removed, what may be retained for legal compliance, and how long any retained records are kept.

2. How to Delete Your Account

You can request deletion in just a few steps from the app:

  1. Open the Friends Track app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to SettingsAccount.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Review the on-screen confirmation and confirm your request.

For your security, we may ask you to re-authenticate (for example, via OTP) before the request is processed. Once confirmed, the deletion process begins automatically — no email or phone call is required.

3. What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data we hold about you, including:

  • Personal information — your name, email address, mobile number, and password credentials.
  • Profile data — profile photo, saved addresses, favourite locations, language and notification preferences.
  • Uploaded content — documents, vehicle details, identity/verification files, and any other media you uploaded.
  • Trip preferences & history — saved routes, ride preferences, ratings and reviews linked to your identity.
  • Device & location data — stored GPS history and device identifiers associated with your account.

Wherever technically possible, retained legal records (see Section 4) are anonymised or pseudonymised so they can no longer be used to directly identify you.

4. What We Are Required to Retain

Certain records cannot be deleted immediately because we are legally and financially obliged to keep them. We retain only the minimum data necessary, strictly for the purposes below:

  • Transaction records — invoices, payments, refunds, and settlement data required under tax, accounting, and financial regulations.
  • Audit & compliance records — logs needed for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, safety investigations, and regulatory reporting.

These records are retained for a maximum of 7 years, or for the period required by applicable law, after which they are securely and permanently destroyed. They are never used for marketing and are not shared except where the law requires it.

5. Deletion Timeline

  • Immediately

Your account is deactivated and you are signed out. You can no longer log in or book rides.

  • Within 30 days

Your personal information, profile data, and uploaded content are permanently erased from our active systems.

  • Up to 90 days

Residual copies in secure encrypted backups are purged as part of our routine backup rotation.

  • Up to 7 years

Only legally required transaction and audit records are retained, then securely destroyed.

6. What Happens After Deletion

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • You will lose access to your ride history, saved places, ratings, and any rewards or referrals.
  • Please complete or cancel any active rides and settle any outstanding payments or wallet balances before deleting, as these cannot be recovered afterwards.
  • If you wish to use Friends Track again in the future, you will need to register a new account.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No. Deletion is permanent. Once your personal data has been erased it cannot be restored. To use the service again you will need to create a new account.

Why do you keep my transaction records for up to 7 years?

Tax, accounting, and financial regulations require us to retain proof of payments, invoices, and refunds for a defined period. This is a legal obligation and applies even after your account is deleted.

Will my personal details be visible in the retained records?

Wherever technically possible, retained records are anonymised or pseudonymised so they can no longer directly identify you. Where the law requires identifiable data to be kept, access is strictly limited and protected.

How long does it take for my data to be fully deleted?

Personal information is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Encrypted backup copies are purged within 90 days. Only legally required records remain, for up to 7 years.

What happens to my outstanding payments or wallet balance?

Please settle any dues and withdraw or use your wallet balance before deleting your account. Balances and pending settlements cannot be recovered once the account is deleted.

Can I delete my data without deleting my whole account?

Yes. You can request access to, or correction of, specific personal data by contacting us using the details below, without closing your account entirely.
